With the current climate causing everyone to stay indoors, I’m really missing Dallas coffee shops right now.
Before the stay-in-place, Dallas city life could be distracting for freelancers searching for locations to knock out their to-do lists. But, these coffee shops, located in some of the city’s busiest areas, are quiet and offer free wifi.
All of these locations are comfortable spaces to get work done.
Sip Stir Coffee in West Village
Sip Stir Coffee is located in the West Village/Uptown area minutes away from Highway 75.
Between many restaurants and stores, this coffee shop offers plenty of space, a chill atmosphere and strong coffee.
Depending on what time of the day you visit, parking can be a little annoying, especially on the weekends. But, the shop has never been overcrowded when I visit and the easy-going, productive vibe never changes.
Murray Street Coffee Shop in Deep Ellum
Located across from Futura Lofts, this coffee shop can be found by its colorful streamers hanging above the door.
There’s a few booths and tables downstairs for people working alone, but if you head upstairs, couches, desks and larger tables can be found, allowing for a great coworking or a meeting space.
Murray Street also partners with Common Desk, a company that offers co-working spaces around Texas.
If you’re in need of a place to work that gives you office vibes or a conference room to host an important meeting, renting a spot in one of these spaces may be a great option for you.
After visiting Murray’s, I was offered a day pass to Common Desk’s Deep Ellum location a few weeks later via email.
When using Murray Street’s wifi, you’re asked to provide an email in order to connect. You may not want another newsletter hitting your inbox but trust me… do it. They don’t flood with updates just special offers, so be sure to sign up while you’re working .
There are plenty of free wifi connections at this location because Deep Ellum has so many businesses around the area, but make sure to use Murray’s if you want the offers.
Brewed + Pressed in Uptown or Victory Park
Brewed + Pressed not only offers coffee, but healthy juices and shots to wake you up if you don’t want more joe in the middle of a busy workday.
There are two locations for this coffee/juice combo spot, with one in the heart of Uptown and the other in hustling and bustling Victory Park.
The aesthetic of this place not only makes me want to take pictures, but I’m a sucker for working in visually pleasing spaces. Inspiration immediately flows and I’m able to knock out my work so I can have more time enjoying the place.
Although attractive, the shop is always chill when I visit. I usually hang there a while after I finish my work and enjoy people watching on their patio or wind down from my brain being in work mode with a green juice.
Houndstooth in Knox Henderson
I enjoy sitting outside and writing at this coffee shop, but I’m not a fan of Dallas’s heat. So, in the summer that’s not an option for me.
I like to visit Houndstooth during the week when the area is a little less busy and knock out my task lists.
There are two more locations in Dallas in Oak Cliff and off Walnut Hill, but I prefer the Knox/Henderson location.
Fiction Coffee in Downtown Dallas
Fiction Coffee is a shop I stumbled upon while driving around the city on an off day.
It’s located right outside of downtown on Hall Street, close to a Highway 75 entrance that can take you to north Dallas.
I was intrigued by this place initially because of a flower mural that was beautifully painted on their black brick walls, but now it’s painted over.
They’ve changed their murals a few times since finding them, so I’m assuming they like to keep things fresh.
The inside of the shop is just as aesthetically pleasing. Exposed brick, wood-finished bars and tables, and faux fur stools drew me in, but the lattes and atmosphere made me return to use this unique space.
The location is on the smaller side, but I’m usually able to find a spot to get stuff done.
It’s usually busy in the morning, but what coffee shop isn’t, right? After the morning rush, it’s a cool spot to work with no interruptions.
Fiction Coffee provides roadside pick up. So you can still drink their delicious coffee.
This location also partners with Common Desk, so be sure to use their wifi.
These coffee shops are only a few places in Dallas that allow you to be super productive within the busy city.
If you need a change of scenery from your home office or your usual working space after the quarantine is over, these are some great Dallas coffee shops to visit and change your scenery.
