Trello for Freelancers: Why Writers Need this Project Management Tool

Freelancers need project management in order to stay organized. There are plenty of tools to use, but Trello for freelancers is essential for me.

Trello provides an easy to use platform that helps organize my projects. The tool allows me to collaborate with teams, update clients on work and complete assignments efficiently.

What is Trello?

Trello is a “tool that organizes your projects into boards. In one glance, Trello tells you what’s being worked on, who’s working on what, and where something is in a process.”

The boards allow users to visually layout tasks, comment on progress, attach documents and photos, set due dates and assign duties to team members. The best part about this tool is that you can use it on your devices, giving users easy accessibility.

Trello also has functions called PowerUps that make the platform even more convenient. You’re able to add calendars, sync your DropBox or Google Drive, add maps and more. Trello integrates many tools and services freelancers use to help stay organized, making project management a breeze.

Users get one PowerUp per board under Trello’s FREE plan, but if you want or need more, you can upgrade to Trello Gold ($5/month) to get three PowerUps per board or Trello Business Class ($12.50/month) for unlimited PowerUps.

How I Use Trello

I use different boards for individual projects and projects I collaborate on. Trello also integrates with Slack, so when something is assigned to me, I get a notification for it in the messaging platform and add it to my TO DO LIST.

Trello helps me finish tasks before due dates, view daily tasks I need to complete and overall make my life easier.

Since using Trello, I’ve been able to accomplish goals so much easier. I have boards for freelance work, my blog and personal projects, all integrated with tools I need to complete assignments.

Why I Recommend Trello for Freelancers

Trello is hands down the easiest and most beneficial project management tool I’ve ever used. I’ve tried other platforms like Asana and Basecamp, but Trello has helped me stay the most productive I’ve ever been.

Trello offers plenty of awesome features in their FREE plan. If you’re interested in trying out this amazing project management system, get started by using my link!
